Addis Ababa Police announced that 3 individuals who were preparing and selling fake residence IDs were arrested on the suggestion of the community. The stamps and papers used to prepare the IDs were also seized.

The individuals were arrested in Addis City sub-district district 7, the special location is Bus Thar area. The suspects used for this illegal activity by forging fake round stamps and individual name titers in Addis Ababa city administration, Addis city sub-city district 6 administrative office and Amara national regional government North Gonder zone, Debark city Kebele 01 administrative office and Addis Ababa. It has been confirmed through investigation that they were committing the crime by printing identity cards with the logo of the city administration.

Addis Ababa Police announced that they were hiding the stamps and papers in a grocery store and selling them to prepare fake IDs for people looking for residence IDs.

The Addis Ababa Police mentioned that there is a need to work in coordination with the security agencies in order to ensure that individuals who prepare various fake documents and distribute them to the public and cause the public to suffer various harms by prioritizing their personal interests.
